1. Scope
This Policy applies to everyone who browses or uses SafeRent Community, including visitors, registered users and review publishers, and forms part of the Terms of Service. By using the Platform, you agree to comply.
2. Lawful and Respectful Use
Use the Platform lawfully, honestly and respectfully. You are responsible for content you post or transmit.
3. Prohibited Content
Do not post or upload material containing:
- content contrary to Hong Kong law or another applicable jurisdiction, including incitement, fraud, or content breaching the Crimes Ordinance or Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance;
- defamatory, disparaging or reputation-harming content;
- discriminatory, hateful or harassing content aimed at a person or group on grounds such as race, sex, religion, age, disability or sexual orientation;
- false, misleading or maliciously deceptive content, including fabricated stays or invented facts;
- material infringing intellectual property, such as unauthorised photos, text or trademarks;
- another person's name, phone number, address, identity number or other personal data without consent, or doxxing;
- obscene, violent or seriously distressing material;
- unauthorised advertising, solicitation or spam.
4. Review-Specific Rules
The Platform values genuine, publicly readable student experience rather than one-sided provider promotion. When reviewing, you agree:
- to post only your genuine stay experience and not conceal an operator, agent or associate's promotional role;
- to disclose any monetary, employment, family or commercial relationship with the accommodation;
- not to manipulate positive or negative reviews through payment or benefits;
- not to upload identifying photos or recordings of residents or third parties without consent;
- not to fabricate malicious allegations about a provider, staff member or student.
5. Technical and Security Restrictions
- Do not use crawlers, scripts, bots or other automation to access, scrape or copy Platform data in bulk;
- do not bypass, interfere with or try to defeat security, access controls or technical measures;
- do not make excessive requests beyond normal personal use that impair or interrupt service;
- do not spoof a source or IP address, or use another person's account credentials.
6. Account Security
Keep credentials secure, do not transfer or lend an account, and take responsibility for account activity. If you suspect unauthorised use, change your password and notify us promptly.
7. Enforcement
For a breach, we may remove or hide content, warn a user, restrict features, suspend or terminate an account, or report a matter to law enforcement or regulators. Repeat or serious offenders may be permanently denied access. Where lawful, action may be taken without prior notice.
8. Reports and Complaints
Report suspected breaches through the footer's “Content has an error?” link or privacy@saferent.tech, with evidence where possible. We will review and take appropriate action within a reasonable period but do not guarantee a fixed timeframe.
9. Relationship with Other Terms
This Policy applies with the Terms of Service. The Terms and applicable law govern matters not covered here.
